Visit the Vatican Museums, home to priceless treasures collected by the Popes. Insight provides special priority entry, allowing you to avoid the crowds and admire the Papal art collection. Inside the Sistine Chapel, marvel at Michelangelo’s renowned ceiling. Next door, visit St. Peter’s Basilica to see Michelangelo’s emotive Pietà and Bernini’s intricately carved Papal Altar. The rest of the day is at your leisure—perhaps shop in the trendy boutiques or relax at a Pavement cafe.
Due to increased demand during the Jubilee year, access to the Vatican Museums may be limited. If tickets are unavailable during your visit, your sightseeing will instead explore the Capitoline Museums, home to the iconic Capitoline Wolf, ancient Roman bronzes and Renaissance art, set atop Michelangelo’s Piazza del Campidoglio with sweeping views of the Roman Forum.
