Before I book
Will I travel with people from other countries?
The beauty of taking a guided holiday with us is you’ll have the opportunity to meet and travel with people from all over the globe.
How many people will be on my trip?
You’ll find an average of 40 to 45 guests on trips throughout Europe and a maximum of 52 guests on trips throughout the United States and Canada.
Will I have free time?
Each itinerary offers the perfect balance of downtime and discoveries. We also give you the opportunity to tailor your trip with Optional Experiences. You might choose to enjoy some of the best seats in the house at the world-famous Moulin Rouge in Paris, or maybe take a magical early-morning balloon ride over the Napa Valley.
Our At Leisure trips offer a more relaxed pace, with later starts and longer stays in each place.
What are the coaches like?
We pride ourselves on having the finest fleet of fuel-efficient, fully air-conditioned coaches – all with reclining seats and on-board restrooms. The high vantage point from your coach’s window means you can take in all the glorious scenery, whether it’s a vast rural landscape or an urban city center. We also have on board Wi-Fi.
Are the hotels air conditioned?
We select our hotels for their quality, impeccable service and comfort, with the majority of them having air-conditioning. Few hotels in the northern Alps or Europe have air conditioning due to the colder climate.
What is a Travel Director?
Our Travel Directors come from a variety of backgrounds but they all share a passion for travel and their home countries. These experienced professionals show you what the guidebooks can’t – a true insider’s perspective of each destination. Each Travel Director has been through a bespoke training program and many have at least five years’ experience under their belt.
Can I book a group?
We take the hassle out of booking a group holiday – and we offer some great discounts for five or more people. Groups of five to eight people will receive 5% off the land-only part of their trip and larger groups will save even more.
Does Trafalgar promote sustainable tourism?
Trafalgar is a founding partner of the TreadRight Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation established in 2008. So far, the charity has donated more than US$2 million to help underprivileged communities and support sustainable tourism around the world.
What is the single traveller supplement?
If you prefer the privacy of your own room, you can opt for our single supplement. The cost will depend on your trip and can be found in the pricing section of the itinerary. On many of our trips we offer discounts on the standard single supplement. If you’d rather not incur the additional expense, consider our single traveller room share option. We’ll accommodate you with a fellow guest of the same gender, on a twin-bed basis.
What payment methods do you use?
We accept credit/debit card payments (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and PayPal.
What if I have special dietary requirements?
We can accommodate guests who are vegetarian and can assist with diabetic, gluten-free and other medically-recommended diets. Please advise us at time of booking. Unfortunately, we’re unable to supply meals in accordance with strict religious requirements.
We can’t provide salt-free, Kosher, Halal, requests for specific dietary supplements such as soya milk, and high protein or low-carb meals.
