Day 1
Arrive Nairobi
Jambo and Welcome to Nairobi! On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by a Lion World Travel representative and transferred to the 5-star Hemingways Nairobi Hotel.
The expansive rooms have an attentive butler to tend to every detail in your room. All around enjoy the view of The Green Hills of Africa, as described in Hemingway’s novel.

Nairobi/Amboseli National Park
Transfer to Wilson Airport for your light aircraft flight to Amboseli National Park, known for its unrivaled views of Kilimanjaro and the large elephant population.
Start your safari with an afternoon game drive as you drive to the 5-star Tortilis Camp where you will stay in spacious Makuti thatched-covered tents with elegant en-suite bathrooms.
Tortilis Camp’s walking guides are Maasai, from the local community. They will share their knowledge of the terrain and show you the small things – tracks, dung beetles, micro-ecosystems.

Amboseli National Park/Samburu National Reserve
Fly north to the Samburu National Reserve, a land sparsely populated by proud nomadic people. The rugged and remote Samburu wildlife reserve provides some of the best and most colorful game viewing in the country in this area of spectacular scenery.
The spacious tents at Elephant Bedroom Camp have rustic and colorful African touches, offering all the comforts, including a private plunge pool on the deck.
Spend the afternoon on a game drive, discovering the unique wildlife of the reserve. Huge herds of elephant, prides of lion or the solitary leopard are regular visitors around the camp.

Samburu National Reserve
An exciting day on safari looking out for species unique to the Samburu National Reserve.
Samburu boasts the most unusual fauna of all East Africa’s major savannah reserves. There is the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa Oryx and the long-horned Grant’s gazelle. The most unique of them all is the Gerenuk or antelope giraffe, distinguished by its extraordinarily distended neck and small head.

Samburu/Maasai Mara
This morning you will fly to the world-famous Maasai Mara, backdrop to ‘The greatest wildlife spectacle on earth', the annual wildebeest migration.
On arrival transfer to the intimate 5-star Elephant Pepper Camp. The camp offers spacious luxury safari tents. You can watch wildlife roam on the savannah plains from your personal verandah or hammock.
Spend the afternoon on safari and return to camp in time for a hot shower, campfire cocktails and dinner.

Your Lion World Travel safari includes a “meet and greet” upon arrival. While on safari you will have local experts, rangers, drivers and/or trackers join you on your day tours, game drives and safari activities.

Visas
United States of America passport holders require visas for Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Visas should be obtained prior to departure either on-line or from the relevant Embassy or High Commission in Washington DC. Visas on arrival will not be issued for Kenya.
Passports
For visitors to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Kenya, and Tanzania, passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the intended return date.
Passport must contain at least 2 blank visa pages (each) for South Africa and Zimbabwe and 3 blank visa pages (each) for Tanzania, Kenya, and Mozambique.
Vaccinations & Health Precautions
Malaria is prevalent in the countries included in this itinerary. It is recommended to consult a doctor or travel clinic prior to travel regarding the appropriate precautions to take.
Yellow fever vaccination is recommended prior to arrival in Tanzania and required if arriving within 6 days after leaving or transiting countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.
Other vaccinations that might be considered before you travel include typhoid, hepatitis A and B, meningitis, and tetanus.

Covid protocols and entry requirements are also in place for visitors to Africa. Requirements vary between countries. Please speak to your Africa Specialist for information specific to your itinerary.
Traveling with children
If you are traveling to South Africa with a child/children under the age of 18 you must travel with an unabridged birth certificate, in English, even if both parents are traveling with the child(ren). Airlines will be forced to deny boarding if the required documentation is not produced.
