On arrival in Cairo, Egypt, the "cradle of ancient civilization", you are met by a Lion World Travel representative and transferred to the Four Seasons at the First Residence.

After breakfast at your hotel, meet with your private Egyptologist guide for your tour of the Egyptian museum, citadel of Salah El Dain, Alabaster Mosque, Sultan Hassan Mosque, Coptic Museum, old Coptic churches and old bazaar area.
Lunch today will be served at the Naguib Mahfouz restaurant. This evening enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Luxor/Nile Cruise (Monday)
Transfer to the port to board the River Tosca, your floating Nile hotel for the next four nights.
Please Note: The Sonesta itinerary might differ slightly from the River Tosca Itinerary.
Activities begin with an excursion to the Karnak Temple, a complex of temples, obelisks, pylons, court colonnades, hall reliefs and sanctuaries.
Afterwards the boat embarks to Dendera where the boat will dock overnight.
Lavishly adorned with original artwork, marble floors and rich wood paneling, the River Tosca sets a new standard of luxury on the Nile.

After a morning visit to Dendera, set sail back to Luxor in the afternoon. Visit the Luxor Temple, which stands in the center of the town.

Luxor/Kom Ombo-Nile Cruise (Wednesday)
This morning, cross the Nile to Luxor's West Bank, best known by its Greek name, Thebes, which was the permanent residence of the Pharaohs.
Please Note: For entrance into the tomb of Tutankhamen an additional ticket is needed and can be arranged for in Luxor. This is an extra cost, on our own account. Your ticket for the Valley of the Kings includes entrance to three tombs only. As not all tombs are open at the same time. The exact tombs you visit will be determined once you are in Luxor.
Return to the boat for lunch and continue your journey, passing through the Esna lock to Kom Ombo.

Kom Ombo/Aswan-Nile Cruise (Thursday)
After breakfast, visit the Temple of Kom Ombo. One side of the temple is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the other side is dedicated to the falcon god Haroeris or Horus the Elder.
Return to the ship in time for afternoon tea. Relax and unwind before getting ready for dinner and a Nubian show with live music.

Aswan/Abu Simbel/Aswan/Cairo (Friday)
Disembark the boat after breakfast. You will be met and transferred to the airport for your flight to Abu Simbel.
Depart on your tour to Abu Simbel.
Later, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo via Aswan where you will be met and transferred to the hotel.
This evening there will be a special farewell dinner.
Around midnight you will transfer to the airport with a very early international departure flight with fond memories of your Egyptian holiday.

Visas
United States of America passport holders require visas for Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Visas should be obtained prior to departure either on-line or from the relevant Embassy or High Commission in Washington DC. Visas on arrival will not be issued for Kenya.
Passports
For visitors to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Kenya, and Tanzania, passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the intended return date.
Passport must contain at least 2 blank visa pages (each) for South Africa and Zimbabwe and 3 blank visa pages (each) for Tanzania, Kenya, and Mozambique.
Vaccinations & Health Precautions
Malaria is prevalent in the countries included in this itinerary. It is recommended to consult a doctor or travel clinic prior to travel regarding the appropriate precautions to take.
Yellow fever vaccination is recommended prior to arrival in Tanzania and required if arriving within 6 days after leaving or transiting countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.
Other vaccinations that might be considered before you travel include typhoid, hepatitis A and B, meningitis, and tetanus.

Covid protocols and entry requirements are also in place for visitors to Africa. Requirements vary between countries. Please speak to your Africa Specialist for information specific to your itinerary.
Traveling with children
If you are traveling to South Africa with a child/children under the age of 18 you must travel with an unabridged birth certificate, in English, even if both parents are traveling with the child(ren). Airlines will be forced to deny boarding if the required documentation is not produced.
